The Faculty and Staff Assistance Program (FSAP) and the UCSD Staff Association are pleased to present the October 2009 Learn-At-Lunch Program featuring Douglas Braun-Harvey, MFT, CGP. Topic: "What is Sexual Health in Couples?"
Date: Tuesday, October 13, 2009 Cost: Free and no reservation is needed to attend If you want to know what six fundamentals of sexual health are essential for every couple to safely find and sustain love, then this Learn-At-Lunch is for you. Douglas Braun-Harvey bridges sexual and mental health within the day-to-day life of men and women of all sexual orientations. When couples avoid, fear, or ignore sexual health fundamentals, they inadvertently fall into a pattern of sexual non-disclosure, and additional problems may emerge at times of crisis or illness. Mr. Braun-Harvey will help you integrate sexual health principles and conversations early and often within your relationships. Integrating fundamentals of sexual health creates an opportunity for couples to develop and sustain eroticism, and love while learning about their own vision for sexual health. Sexual health psychotherapist, trainer, and author Douglas Braun-Harvey has been a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (MFT) since 1982; a Certified Group Psychotherapist (CGP) since 1994; and has provided outpatient individual and group therapy for men with out-of-control sexual behavior (OCSB) since 1993. He has over 20 years experience working in all levels of mental health care and treatment, and has a private practice providing individual and group therapy in San Diego. Douglas Braun-Harvey trains and consults nationally and internationally on bridging principles of sexual health within a wide range of health and human services, including drug and alcohol treatment, psychotherapy, group psychotherapy, HIV prevention and treatment, sexual abuse and maltreatment, family court services, and OCSB. He is the author of "Sexual Health in Drug and Alcohol Treatment: A group facilitation manual," as well as several journal articles, and his book "Sexual Health in Recovery" will be published in 2010.
