UCSD Staff Association Career Experiences for High School Students

Creating Workforce Solutions

July 6 – August 12, 2011 (six weeks)

Summer Internship Opportunities Needed

Opportunities Requested by April 8, 2011

The UCSD Staff Association is launching a new Career Experiences for High School Students (CEHS) program this summer. We hope to engage diverse, talented high school students from around San Diego County to participate in career training and exploration. The program is designed to encourage students from diverse backgrounds and interests to become the next generation of the highly trained 21st century workforce. Giving students the opportunity to explore and experience a career opportunity prior to pursuing post secondary education will broaden their horizons beyond Internet research alone. Students will be able to explore a broad range of fields, such as linguistics, landscape architecture, machine fabrication, hospitality services, scientific writing, digital music creation and much more, all while gaining valuable and perhaps life-changing experience.

Whether you are looking to recruit talented high school students, expand your staff's skills through the opportunity to train and mentor, or ease department workloads, the Staff Association Career Experiences for High School Students program offers a new summer opportunity that will benefit both your department and talented students looking for career experience while still in high school.
