THE RESILIENCY TOOL BOX This workshop is intended for those feeling overwhelmed due to changes that are beyond their control. Learn how to increase your mental stamina and emotional flexibility. Develop your own standards for your capacity to bounce back from difficult and discouraging life events. Create a set of guiding principles that you can live by. MYERS-BRIGGS TYPE INDICATOR(R)FOR MANAGERS Intended for: Managers and supervisors, and aspiring managers and supervisors. The Myers-Briggs Type Indicator(r) is the most thoroughly validated and widely used personality assessment instrument in the world. While many people have taken it and know what their "type" is, most people have never learned about some of the deeper insights that can be gained from this information. Topics include:
* Taking and scoring the MBTI(r) Since it takes time to clearly understand the important concepts taught in this class, the class will run from 8:30 to 1:00, with two breaks. Feel free to eat in the classroom. ************************************************************************
RESILIENT LEADERSHIP DURING CHANGING TIMES Intended for: Leaders and managers who want to increase their effectiveness in leading change efforts. Are you ready for the changes UCSD will be facing in the next ten years of rapid growth? Change is inevitable, it's constant and there is more on the way! As a leader, your ability to facilitate change within your department will carry even more importance. In this session you will learn some new approaches to:
* Communication strategies for critical conversations and building
rapport during all the various stages of change Leaders will need to know how to create safety in their environment so that general communication, as well as, critical conversations can take place. Managers will need to know the stages involved in the change process, employees' typical questions during this time, and how to best facilitate movement through them. Learn the elements of resiliency that apply to leadership positions so that you can lead your group through the operational and emotional affects of change efficiently and effectively. ************************************************************************
SITUATIONAL LEADERSHIP Intended for: Managers, supervisors, work leaders, team or project leaders. Situational Leadership, developed by Ken Blanchard, is one of the most widely used and respected models for leadership effectiveness in the world. In this overview program, you will learn the core concepts, take a leadership style assessment, and learn how to apply the learning in matching your leadership style to the needs of those you lead in particular situations. ************************************************************************
CASH CONTROL TRAINING Intended for: Employees who are handling, processing, and/or depositing cash. Cash is defined as currency, checks, credit cards, money orders, stamps, tokens, tickets, and debit/credit ACH transactions. This course provides you with an understanding of what constitutes "cash" payments, as well as how those cash payments should be handled. Have you ever wondered if you handle all payments the same? Would you handle currency any differently than a personal check? Do you know how the Campus police can help you when transporting cash? If you had a theft at your location, would you know what to do? All of these questions are discussed and answered during this session. Specific Business and Finance Bulletin BUS-49, Cashiering Responsibilities and Guidelines policies will be reviewed and discussed. Emphasis will be placed on those critical policy activities relating to segregation of duties, accountability, physical security, and reconciliation. Examples of each activity will be given for further understanding of the control. In this course, you will learn:

INVESTMENT BASICS Intended For: All faculty and staff. In this course, you will learn about the basics of stocks, bonds and mutual funds. Upon completion, you will understand the difference between risk and volatility. ************************************************************************
SEXUAL HARASSMENT PREVENTION: THE SURVIVAL GUIDE Intended for: Managers, supervisors, academics, and work leaders. Note: This course satisfies the mandatory sexual harassment training requirement for supervisors under California law. This interactive course provides necessary information and practical guidance regarding the legal prohibitions against sexual harassment, as well as supervisors' responsibilities under UC policy. Supervisors will develop the skills required to handle this sensitive and complex workplace issue. Using practical examples and real-life situations, you will:

UC FOUNDATION FINANCIAL STATEMENTS Intended for: Those who are responsible for administration of UC San Diego Foundation gift funds. This course provides an in-depth discussion of the UC San Diego Foundation financial statements as well as examples and a question-and-answer forum. This class also addresses the use of Request for Funds forms and how to access the fund statements electronically. By the end of the demonstration each user will have a practical understanding of how to gain access to the application via Single Sign-On, send equipment to Surplus Sales, make edits to an Asset Record, add equipment and Advance Search for existing equipment.
