UCSD-TV Premiere: Safety of Childhood Vaccinations 5/19

UCSD-TV Premiere: Safety of Childhood Vaccinations on the season premiere of “Health Matters”

Thursday, May 19 at 8pm

Vaccines are one of the most important public health advances in the 20th century yet the number of people getting them is dropping. Parents are concerned about the safety of vaccines, and many are opting out of having their children vaccinated. This can have devastating effects that impact the entire community.

“Health Matters” host Dr. David Granet talks to Dr. Mark Sawyer, medical director of the UCSD San Diego Immunization Partnership, about the safety of childhood vaccinations, the impact of the recent Pertussis (whooping cough) outbreak, and the new Student Booster Law (CA - AB 354) mandating Tdap booster shots for California schoolchildren in grades 7 through 12.
