Benny Morris, a professor at Ben-Gurion University, is one of Israel's foremost historians. His acclaimed, highly independent and often controversial works include The Birth of the Palestinian Refugee Problem (1988), Israel's Border Wars 1949-1956 (1993), 1948 and After (1990), Righteous Victims (1999), 1948: A History of the First Arab-Israeli War (2008) and One State, Two States (2009).
