CONCERT INFORMATION: A program that explores the music of Haydn and the meaning of classicism. David Chase conducts chorus, orchestra and soloists in Haydn’s final major work, Harmoniemesse. Nicholas Deyoe conducts the first half of the program, leading the orchestra in Brahms’s salute to Haydn and an earlier era, and in Shostakovich’s neoclassical First Symphony. Pre-concert lecture one hour prior to concert time.
