SUBJECT: Staff Affirmative Action Training Program-Call For
Departmental Proposals
I am pleased to announce the call for proposals for Staff
Affirmative Action Training Program. The objectives of this
program are to encourage departments to develop employee skills
further and to reduce underutilization at UCSD. Departments are
invited to submit proposals for funds to support departmental
training and development programs.
Preference will be given to proposals that will provide training to
employees from underutilized groups by placing them temporarily in
a category where there is underutilization, or further enhancing
their job skills to prepare them for career advancement into
positions for which there is underutilization.
Proposals are due no later than May 21, 1993, and awardees will be
selected by July 30, 1993.
Please contact Debbie Ordonez, Staff Affirmative Action Office, at
extension 43694 for examples of existing departmental programs.
