UCSD
CAMPUS NOTICE
University of California, San Diego

OFFICE OF THE CHANCELLOR
May 21, 1993
KEY ADMINISTRATORS/KEY SUPPORT STAFF
SUBJECT: Appointment of V. Wayne Kennedy, Sr. VP Business &
Finance
I am pleased to announce that effective June 1, 1993, V. Wayne
Kennedy, Vice Chancellor Administration at UCSD, will succeed Ronald
Brady as Senior Vice President for Business and Finance of the
University of California.
Wayne has been at UCSD since 1973 and has served as Vice Chancellor
since 1982. Under his direction private giving has increased from
$10M to $50M annually; $1.2B in capital projects have been completed
or are underway; and the long-term goal of a campus health care
facility has been met. In addition, he is recognized nationally as
an expert on the complex issues of indirect costs. His intelligence
and counsel have been central to the successful growth of UCSD during
the period of its greatest development. All those who have come into
contact with Wayne know that he embodies the highest standard of
excellence in administration.
His departure will be a great loss to the campus, mitigated only by
the fact that his appointment is a great gain to the University of
California as a whole. He will be a tremendous asset to the
President's office.
I have asked John Woods, Associate Vice Chancellor for Resource
Management, to serve as Acting Vice Chancellor on an interim basis.
