SUBJECT: Appointment - Chief of Police
I am pleased to announce the appointment of Ms. Maudie Bobbitt as the new Chief of Police, succeeding John Anderson who elected retirement under the University's early retirement program.
Ms. Bobbitt is a seasoned and respected law enforcement professional and comes to UCSD with over twenty-four years experience with the San Diego County Sheriff's Department.
Ms. Bobbitt's appointment is effective August 8, 1994. I believe you will find her to be an excellent addition to the University of California, San Diego. Please join me in welcoming her to UCSD.
