SUBJECT: Video Request Service for Staff Education and Development
The Human Resources Department is proud to announce the debut of the Video Request Service (VRS), an innovative service developed collaboratively by the Office of Staff Education and Development and Human Resources Information Systems. The VRS will enable you to use the World Wide Web to submit your request for videos to be borrowed or broadcast from the Staff Education and Development Video Library. The VRS includes these easy-to-use features:
* On-line listing of Video Library offerings * Instant confirmation of video reservation * On-line rescheduling of video requests
* Listings of videos requested
* On-line cancellation of reservation
* Automatic video reservation reminder via electronic mail * On-line history of video transactions
Access instructions follow this message.
Implementation of the Video Request Service is an important milestone in the conversion to electronic processes. In recognition of the fact that some departments may require time to provide access to the VRS, the current paper-based Video Library Loan/Video Broadcast Request system will continue to be available until December 31, 1996. Please direct your comments and suggestions to Staff Education and Development at 534-4890 or staffeducation@hris1.ucsd.edu.
