ADDRESSING SERVICE (PPM 553-7)
Addressing Service accesses data files which contain UCSD campus directory
information and mailing addresses for all members of the University
community. This information, provided in the form of a mail list(s), are
designed to reach any combination of faculty, staff, key administrators,
and business officers. A mail list may be prepared as labels (Avery or
plain) for use by Addressing Services or by the customer. This section
also provides additional services, such as folding, inserting, sealing,
tabbing, stapling, and bulk mail imprinting. An Addressing Service Request
Form (FO2004, 7/91), sold at the Storehouse, is necessary for us to provide
any of these requested services.
We can also update your mail list(s) through our Mailers+4 Software. This
service provides address standardization, per U.S. Postal Service address
files, and will add the appropriate ZIP+4 zip code. The list can be sent
to us via a PC based computer in a fixed length text file, delimited text
file, or a dBASE file.
MESSENGER SERVICE (PPM 553-9)
This section provides delivery of urgent official University messages and
parcels to on and off campus locations. To request service, call 534-2774
and provide us with the location of the pickup, contact person, index
number to be charged, description of item(s) to be picked up and location
of delivery.
U.S. NEIGHBORHOOD POST OFFICE (Price Center)
Located in the Price Center, this section provides a variety of personal
mailing services to resident students, non-resident students, faculty and
staff. Postage stamp sales (include aerogrammes; postcards; money order - cash only; and domestic registry, certified, and insurance). Service to foreign countries is limited to letter type mail. Hours of operation are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. throughout the year. Cash and local checks (with proper identification) are accepted.
