SUBJECT:	Sharecase99: Sharing Ways Technology Can Help Solve Your
Administrative Challenges
I am pleased to announce and invite you to attend "Sharecase99: Sharing
Ways Technology Can Help Solve Your Administrative Challenges." This
day-long event, sponsored by the Middle Management Council and Business Affairs, will be held on Wednesday, March 24, 1999 at the Price Center. Sharecase99 is designed to share technologically-based solutions that can help meet the day-to-day challenges associated with business and administrative responsibilities.
Sharecase99 will begin with a continental breakfast at 8:30 a.m. The
remainder of the day will include 30-minute presentations by central offices and other units on topics such as: financial administration, contract & grant administration, student affairs, payroll/personnel, procurement, travel, general computing, and information resources. An exhibit hall will house selected vendors and campus service providers. RSVP instructions as well as presentation information are accessible at: http://sharecase99.ucsd.edu.
Supervisors are encouraged to review the web site to identify job-related
presentations for their employees. In recognition of the value of
Sharecase99 to the campus community, I have approved a one-hour
administrative leave with pay for March 24 so employees may attend this
event.
Therefore, supervisors may allow employees one-hour of administrative leave
with pay to attend Sharecase99 when the absence does not infringe upon the
performance of the employee's required duties.
