OFFICE OF THE ASSISTANT VICE CHANCELLOR - HUMAN RESOURCES April 29, 1999 KEY ADMINISTRATORS (Including Healthcare) SUBJECT: 1999 UC Management and Leadership Conference This Notice is to provide information regarding the 1999 UC Management and Leadership Conference (UCML) which will be held on June 6, 7, and 8 at the San Jose Fairmont Hotel. UC Santa Cruz is hosting the conference in cooperation with the Office of the President. This year the conference will focus on "Innovation and Tradition: UC in the 21st Century." UC academic leaders, administrative managers, and professional staff will have the opportunity to discuss potential responses to the issues facing them, as well as skill building and development. Keynote speakers will include industry and government leaders such as William Davidow, Ph.D. and author of The Virtual Corporation; San Jose Mayor Ron Gonzales; and Eric Berg a Director in Strategic Technology Services at the Pricewaterhouse-Coopers Technology Centre in Menlo Park. UC President Richard C. Atkinson, UC Senior Vice President Wayne Kennedy,and UCSC Chancellor M.R.C. Greenwood will provide higher education perspectives. The conference will include a Sunday evening reception at the San Jose Museum of Art, and a Monday evening dinner event at the Tech Museum of Innovation.
