                     Members

This Notice is provided to communicate recent revisions to the UC Personnel Policies for Staff Members as referenced and summarized below. Please note that the revisions are the result of informal and formal reviews, effective August 1, 1999.

Staff Policy 12/Nondiscrimination in Employment and 14/ Affirmative Action: The revisions to these policies incorporate changes made to the University of California Nondiscrimination and Affirmative Action Policy Regarding Academic and Staff Employment issued on April 1, 1999.

Staff Policy 46/Administrative Leave: This policy has been revised to clarify and simplify its administration, and to grant paid leave when exempt employees in career positions are subpoenaed to serve as witnesses in non-University proceedings.

Staff Policy 51/Reduced Fee Enrollment: This policy has been revised to clarify The Regents' intent that the fee reduction applies only if the employee's enrollment in University of California courses does not exceed three courses or nine units, whichever limit provides the greatest benefits to the employee.

Staff Policy 60/Layoff and Reduction in Time from Professional and Support Staff Positions: The trial employment provision of this policy has been revised to provide written notification to the employee when trial employment is required.

Staff Policy 81/Reasonable Accommodation: This policy has been revised to clarify that reasonable accommodation is required for employees when an existing disability at the time of hire becomes an issue at the time of reclassification or transfer.

The revised Policies are accessible on the UC Office of the President website at:
