SUBJECT:    Proposed Observance of November 11 as Veterans' Day

This Notice is provided to request comments regarding the University's proposal to observe November 11, Veterans' Day, as an official University holiday for all staff and faculty. Observance of the Veterans' Day holiday will begin with this year's holiday, November 11, 2000.

In keeping with the State's observance of the holiday, when November 11 falls on a Saturday, the preceding Friday will be observed, and when the date falls on a Sunday, the following Monday will be observed. Since November 11, 2000, is a Saturday, the Veterans' Day holiday would be observed on Friday, November 10, 2000.
