SUBJECT:  Diversity Council Recommendations-Chancellor's Response

Last November the Diversity Council sent me a set of recommendations for enhancing the diversity of UCSD's student body. On February 15, 2000, I responded to these recommendations and outlined plans for implementing most of them.

The recommendations, my responses, and an update on implementation are now available on the Diversity Council Web Page: http://www.diversity.ucsd.edu I encourage everyone to review this information to facilitate engagement by the entire campus community.

Also, please join me in thanking the Diversity Council members for developing these recommendations. I look forward to future collaboration with the Council in working toward our goal of insuring that the UCSD campus is reflective of the San Diego community and the State of California.
