SUBJECT: Staff Retention and Support Steering Committee-Open
During my recent State-of-the-Campus Addresses, I acknowledged the appointment of the Staff Retention and Support Steering Committee (SRSSC) charged with guiding and monitoring the activities of a number of committees, teams, and organizations that will be reviewing our processes and systems for supporting our staff during this next decade of unprecedented growth.
In order for our campus to sustain its excellence, and thrive during this period of rapid change, we must be sure to provide our staff with the tools, resources, processes, and work environment that will allow them to be successful in carrying out their duties.
The Staff Retention and Support Steering Committee are providing the following opportunities for input from the campus community in achieving this goal.
Tuesday, May 29, 2001
Wednesday, May 30, 2001
Thursday, June 14, 2001
I am approving a two-hour administrative leave with pay for these events. Supervisors may allow employees a two-hour administrative leave with pay to attend one of the above open forums when the absence does not infringe upon the performance of required job duties.
If you are unable to participate in any of the above open forums, but would like to provide input, please access a questionnaire located at http://blink.ucsd.edu/go/survey. Please send your response electronically or via campus mail to:
Also, hard copies of the attached questionnaire can be found at the following locations:
UCSD Geisel Library Information Desk
In addition to the above open forums, ten (10) focus group sessions will be conducted during the months of May and June with randomly selected individuals. This same questionnaire will be used in the focus group sessions.
Your time and participation in the above efforts are greatly appreciated.
