ALL STUDENTS AT UCSD
SUBJECT: UCSD Open House
It gives me great pleasure to announce that, after a hiatus of several years, UCSD will hold Open House on Saturday, October 20, 2001, in conjunction with Homecoming activities. The event will mark the completion of our 40th Anniversary celebration by inviting the community to visit and explore the campus.
Our 40th milestone has provided UCSD with an opportunity to celebrate its achievements as a great academic institution and to increase awareness of the breadth of programs we sponsor in the community and in K-12 classrooms. Open House will continue that theme and also will highlight the new collaborative academic initiatives that are integral to our strategic growth.
We hope that you will participate in planning and hosting the Open House activities that will connect many constituencies, including academic departments, alumni, athletics, students and the community as a whole. Mark Cunningham, Housing and Dining; Judy Lane, Special Events and Protocol, and Yolanda Leyva, Student Affairs, are co-chairs of Open House. I encourage you to contact any one of them with suggestions about possible departmental activities and volunteer participation.
Please join me on October 20 and be a part of this opportunity to showcase our UCSD community for our San Diego friends and neighbors.
