SUBJECT:  Academic Salary Scales -- PPM 230-40

The Academic Salary Scales for 2001-02, with pay rates effective October 1, 2001, are available online at http://adminrecords.ucsd.edu/PPM/docs/230-40.HTML. The salary scales reflect a 0.5 percent range adjustment for all non-represented academic title series. Above-scale and off-scale salaries will be range adjusted by 0.5 percent.

The academic salary scale for Librarians (both represented and non represented) has also been range adjusted by 0.5 percent. For librarians who are exclusively represented, the application of the range adjustment is subject to the requirements of the Higher Education Employer-Employee Relations Act (HEERA).

Academic salary scales for Lecturers and Supervisors of Teacher Education who are exclusively represented are the subject of ongoing collective bargaining negotiations and will be published upon resolution of the negotiations. A new salary scale for the Faculty Fellow Researcher will also be published upon resolution of the negotiations.

Certain student academic titles (Teaching Assistants and equivalents, Associates and Readers) have also been range adjusted by 0.5 percent. For student employees in any of these titles who are exclusively represented, the application of the range adjustment is subject to the requirements of the Higher Education Employer-Employee Relations Act (HEERA).

Manual Holders are requested to route a copy of this issuance to the Department Chair and any other staff within the department needing information on academic salaries.
