SUBJECT:  Appointment of Associate University Librarian for
                     Technology & Technical Services

The UCSD Libraries are pleased to announce the appointment, effective March 1, 2002, of Luc Declerck as Associate University Librarian, Technology and Technical Services. Mr. Declerck, who currently serves as Manager, Systems and Services at the University of Victoria, British Columbia, began his library career at Trent University, where he served as Head of the Cataloging and Document Delivery Departments, Systems Librarian, and Acting University Librarian. He joined the staff at the University of Victoria in 1993 as Manager, Budget, Systems, and Facilities. Mr. Declerck has been active in Canadian consortial activities, including the Electronic Library Network. He received his MLS from the University of Western Ontario.
