The Office of Graduate Studies and Research is pleased to announce the appointment of Angie Giunta as Director of Graduate Student Financial Support, effective July 1, 2002. Angie fills the position held by Morgan Hunter who is retiring June 30, 2002.

Angie previously served in the Offices of the Comptroller at the University of Maryland and the University of Pennsylvania and as the graduate coordinator and business officer in Penn's Department of Anthropology. Very customer-oriented, Angie comes to UCSD with a strong management background, including extensive experience in business process redesign, training, supervision, budgeting and financial accounting, planning, and working closely with staff and faculty in the full range of academic departments at Maryland and Penn.

Angie will develop, implement, and evaluate policies and practices for the smooth and efficient delivery of student financial support services. Consulting with academic departments, faculty, students, and campus administrators, she will work to address complex graduate student financial support issues. With the OGSR management team, she will collaborate on broader graduate education matters to achieve campus graduate education goals.
