SUBJECT:  UCSD Staff Association's Annual Staff Appreciation Picnic

I am pleased to announce and invite you to attend the UCSD Staff Association's Annual Staff Appreciation Picnic, which will be held on Friday, August 2, 2002, from 11:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. at the Sun God Lawn. "Feeling Groovy with UCSD Staff Associations" is the theme for this year's Picnic. All members of the campus community are encouraged to attend this fun event.

Picnic activities will include the 20th Annual Vice Chancellor's Volleyball Tournament, the perennial cake walk and other games, arts and crafts vendor fair, the Rad Hatter and face painting, music and lots of food. The Staff Association will be providing FREE beef and veggie hot dogs, corn on the cob, watermelon, and popcorn; and other UCSD Staff Associations will be selling incredible food items.

Supervisors are encouraged to grant employees two hours of release time in addition to the regular half hour for lunch to attend the picnic if the absence does not infringe upon the performance of required job duties.
