SUBJECT:  Procurement at UCSD - Express Order

Since its implementation at UCSD in 1993, Express Order has streamlined the ordering and paying process for designated highly used commodities from participating vendors.

Express Order eliminates most paperwork as a purchase order is not required and there are no paper invoices to pay.

The following goods and services are available at UCSD though Express Order:

* chemicals
* lab supplies (excluding equipment)
* linen and laundry services
* temporary employees through UCSD's Temporary Employee Service (TES)
* X-ray machine maintenance and supplies

Note: In partnership with Express Order and our suppliers, the UCSD Storehouse Web catalog http://storehouse.ucsd.edu is the best source for next-day delivery for frequently used chemicals and laboratory supplies.

We also invite you to complete a survey of the Express Order process http://www-bfs.ucsd.edu/epic/Survey.pdf sponsored by Audit and Management Services. Your responses to this survey will provide valuable information as we evaluate the effectiveness of this procurement process.
