SUBJECT:  2001-2002 Annual Service Awards Ceremony

It is my pleasure to announce that the 35th Annual Service Awards Ceremony will be held on Wednesday, October 23, 2002 in the Price Center Ballroom. The Ceremony provides an occasion for the campus community to acknowledge and recognize those UCSD staff employees who have achieved 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35 and 40 years of service during the period of May 1, 2001 through August 31, 2002. This year, we will recognize and celebrate the service achievements of five hundred and seventy-seven (577) staff members.

The Ceremony will begin at 2:30 p.m. and will include presentation of Awards and Certificates of Appreciation to one-hundred and twenty-two (122) individuals who have completed 25, 30, 35 and 40 years of service. Employees who have completed 10, 15 and 20 years of service will receive Certificates of Appreciation to recognize their service and commitment to the University.

Vice Chancellors, Department Heads and Supervisors have been provided a listing of this year's honorees. All supervisors should encourage those who are to be recognized to attend the Ceremony.

UCSD is indeed fortunate to have such a high level of commitment and contribution from the large number of valued employees as reflected by those being acknowledged at this year's Service Awards Ceremony.
