SUBJECT:  2002 State-of-the-Campus Address

As part of my continuing efforts to keep the UCSD community informed, I am inviting faculty, staff and students to attend one of my 2002 State-of-the-Campus Addresses. Each of the sessions will focus on, "Changes and Challenges: How UCSD Will Adhere to its Mission and Growth Management Plans During Changing Circumstances and New Challenges."

To provide an opportunity for all members of the UCSD community to attend an Address, three sessions will be held as follows:

UCSD MEDICAL CENTER - HILLCREST AUDITORIUM
Wednesday, November 20, 2002
2:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m.

GENERAL CAMPUS - PRICE CENTER, BALLROOM B
Friday, November 22, 2002
12:00 noon - 1:00 p.m.

SIO - SUMNER AUDITORIUM
Tuesday, November 26, 2002
9:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m.

In recognition of the importance of this series of Campus Addresses, I am approving one hour of administrative leave with pay that employees may apply to their attendance at a Campus Address. Therefore, supervisors, upon request, may allow employees one hour of administrative leave with pay to attend one of the sessions when the absence does not infringe upon the performance of required duties.
