SUBJECT:  Changes in Regents Gift Processing and Various Donors Policy

The Gift Processing Department in External Relations has recently assumed responsibility for most of the financial and budgetary journal allocations on IFIS of gifts to the UC Regents. These allocations were previously handled by the Office of Post Award Financial Services.

An additional change involves an increased maximum dollar amount for a single unrestricted gift that may be place in a departmental "Various Donors" fund. Until recently, only unrestricted gifts of less than $10,000 could be placed in a various donors fund. Unrestricted gifts up to $100,000 per gift may now be commingled in a departmental various donors fund. However, as always, gifts for restricted purposes may not be commingled with gifts that have different or unrestricted purposes.
