SUBJECT: Resignation of F. Thomas Bond as Provost of Revelle College
After 20 years of dedicated service as Provost of Revelle College, Tom Bond has announced his decision to step down as Provost at the end of this academic year. Tom will be greatly missed as Provost, not only by the Revelle College community, but by his many friends and colleagues across the UCSD campus. The students, staff, and faculty of Revelle College have been the beneficiaries of Tom's total commitment to Revelle and UCSD throughout his years of service as Provost. Tom has had a profound impact on generations of Revelle College students, many of whom have come to know him as an accomplished teacher, a wise mentor, and a good friend. His wisdom and counsel on undergraduate education have been personally invaluable to me since I have been at UCSD. I am certain that Tom's many friends and colleagues will look forward to joining me in congratulating Tom on his distinguished service to Revelle College and to UCSD at a reception to be held in his honor during the Spring Quarter.
We will immediately initiate a campus-wide search for the next Provost of Revelle College. Further details of this search will be forthcoming shortly.
