SUBJECT:  Schedule of Classes Available on StudentLink

With the increasing reliance on StudentLink as a primary source of up-to-date information by students, faculty, and staff, it has been decided to discontinue printing the Schedule of Classes booklet. This decision has been influenced by the following factors:

· The printed booklet is out of date by the time it becomes available to
   the campus community.

· The StudentLink Schedule of Classes is updated nightly and provides
the most accurate and timely information on course offerings.

· Students, faculty and staff have come to rely increasingly on the
StudentLink Schedule of Classes for up-to-date information.

· Correspondingly, there has been a much-diminished demand for the
   printed Schedule of Classes booklet.

The Winter Quarter 2004 Schedule of Classes will be available exclusively on StudentLink on Friday, October 31, 2003. It will not be available in printed form. To access the StudentLink Schedule of Classes, go to www.studentlink.ucsd.edu and click on the yellow Schedule of Classes button.

The first section of the printed Schedule of Classes, known as the "front matter" and consisting of the enrollment and registration calendar, important deadline dates, registration and fee information, other procedures and general information, exam schedules, and University policies, will be available in PDF format on both StudentLink and the Registrar's web site under the title "Enrollment Information and University Policies".

On StudentLink, watch for the "Enrollment Information and University Policies" link beginning October 31, 2003. The link will appear on the both the "For Faculty/Staff" page and the "For Students" page.

To access the Registrar's web site, go to http://registrar.ucsd.edu/ver2/. Look for the "Enrollment Information and University Policies" link under both the Student Services and Information sections.
