KEY ADMINISTRATORS/KEY SUPPORT STAFF (including UCSD Healthcare)

SUBJECT:    UCSD Fire Victims Emergency Loan Program

The UCSD Employee Emergency Loan Program will be expanded during the month of November to provide assistance to those who have been directly impacted by the San Diego County wildfires.

For fire victims, the maximum loan amount has been increased from $500 to $2,500. The loan is repaid through a direct payroll deduction over a 12-month period. For fire victims requesting assistance through the program, there will be 0% interest and the administrative charges normally applied will be waived. Loan repayment will begin January 2004. Details of the program can be viewed at http://blink.ucsd.edu/go/emergencyloan .

Requests for assistance from the Emergency Loan Program must be made through the employee's Department Head. The form can be completed and returned via fax to 534-8184, and the original sent to: Emergency Loan Coordinator, Mail Code 0050. Upon receipt of the facsimile copy, our office will begin processing the request, and have funds available the following day. Checks will be made available at the Student Business Services Office at 201 University Center, at Gilman and Myers. If the need arises, the Emergency Loan Coordinator in the Student Business Services office will work with the Central Cashiers to provide cash disbursement of funds. For specific questions or support please contact Kathy White at 822-0477 or email kewhite@ucsd.edu.
