SUBJECT:  CONSTRUCTION ALERT - West Campus Utility Loop Project

Project Description/Location

As you maybe aware the West Campus Utility Loop project is currently under construction, which is supplying new utilities to support new campus buildings. The initial phase of this project will take place from the Multipurpose Building (currently under construction) on Russell Lane through the area between High Bay Physics and the SERF Building, finally connecting with a vault in Mathews Lane.

Immediate Street Impacts

Beginning on Friday November 21, 2003 and continuing until January 31, 2004, Russell Lane will be closed between Rupertus Way and Lyman Lane, and between SERF and High Bay Physics. Bollards will be removed at the intersection of Lyman Lane and Myers Loop on the west side in order to access Parking Lot P405 and allow service vehicles.

For pedestrians, the sidewalk along the west side of Visual Arts and along the east side of the SERF building. Periodic access will be allowed from the east side of Lyman Lane when possible, depending on the construction; otherwise pedestrians will be directed by signs around the construction site.
