SUBJECT: Appointment - Executive Assistant to the Chancellor
I am delighted to announce that Dolores Santana will become the newest addition to the Chancellor's Office staff. Beginning December 8, 2003 Dolores will serve as the Executive Assistant to the Chancellor, replacing Eileen O'Callahan who recently left the campus to join President Dynes' staff.
Dolores began her UCSD career in 1979 in the Staff Affirmative Action/CETA Office as a Secretary I. She left UCSD in 1981 to pursue a career in the corporate world, working as a computer programmer for Logicon, Inc. and as a hardware configuration manager at Rohr Industries. In 1993, Dolores returned to UCSD as an administrative assistant in the Office of the Vice Chancellor-Resource Management & Planning. Shortly thereafter she became the Assistant to the Vice Chancellor and has performed those duties since, with extraordinary skill, efficiency, and tactfulness. Dolores will be a tremendous asset to the Chancellor's Office. Please join me in extending our congratulations and a warm welcome.
