SUBJECT:  Revised Policy and Procedure Manual Sections 230-20 and 230-28

I am pleased to announce revisions to the following Policy and Procedure Manual sections effective March 1, 2003:

PPM 230-20 - Appointment of Academic Personnel
PPM 230-28 - Academic Appraisals, Merits, Promotions and Reappointments

The revised policies encompass changes suggested by the Academic Senate, the 2000 UCSD Task Force on the Faculty Review Process, and other members of the campus community. In addition, technical changes were made throughout both policies. The revised policies are available at the following websites:
