SUBJECT:  2003 United Way/CHAD Drive at UCSD
                     "Choose to Care"

The 2003 UCSD United Way/CHAD Campaign commenced on Friday, February 14th and will run through Monday, March 17th. United Way/CHAD provides an efficient and cost-effective way to support the many agencies that make our community a better place to live. Additionally, it offers us the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of others. Your gift supports community programs to enhance senior independence, develop diverse communities, empower persons with disabilities, improve health and wellness, protect the environment, strengthen families in crisis and invest in children and youth.

I fully support UCSD's United Way/CHAD Campaign; your support will also count! Together the Academic Affairs faculty, staff and students can help make a difference in San Diego County by contributing to United Way/CHAD. Our contributions will support local agency programs and services that provide basic necessities such as health care, emergency services, childcare, literacy, and many other services.

By now, all of you should have received pledge materials. Therefore, I urge that you review them carefully and join me in supporting this year's campaign. If you have not received a packet or have misplaced yours, contact Dan Wyman at 4-7831, dwyman@ucsd.edu and one will be sent to you. Thank you for your continued generous support.
