SUBJECT:  REMINDER! DEADLINE QUICKLY APPROACHING SAFETY TRAINING
Required Prior to Rental of 12 and 15 Passenger Vehicles From
                     PPS Fleet Services

I know many of you who rent vehicles from Fleet Services have already taken advantage of this Safety Training since our first Notice went out in February. However, for those of you who might have missed our previous Notice and who might need to rent 12 and 15-passenger vans through PPS Fleet Services in the future, this is just a friendly reminder that, effective July 1, 2003, no rentals of these vehicles will be authorized to anyone who has not completed UCSD's van driver's training course. The course consists of both classroom and behind-the-wheel training and demonstrates the stability and safety issues surrounding these vehicles.

It is suggested that anyone in your department who is likely to have a need for renting one of these vehicles, take the opportunity to complete this course as soon as possible. This will avoid last minute problems and ensure your department may continue to rent vehicles after the deadline. To enroll in this course, please phone Dennis Bell at extension 43485, or email him at debell@ucsd.edu.
