SUBJECT:  View your UCSD Vacation and Sick Leave Balances -
                     MyLeaveBalances

I am pleased to introduce to you a new online tool called MyLeaveBalances. MyLeaveBalances provides eligible UCSD employees with the ability to view and print a summary of their vacation, sick, and compensatory time activity and associated balances for a four- or twelve-month period. The information provided via this tool is identical to the data on the Leave Activity Summary Report (LASR) that you may have been receiving on paper.

To use the tool, visit the Blink home page (http://blink.ucsd.edu) and click on the "MyLeaveBalances" icon located in the right column of the page. Or you may access it directly at: http://myleavebalances.ucsd.edu

MyLeaveBalances is a secure system, utilizing the new UCSD Single Signon system, and designed to protect your privacy. Therefore, in order to view the information, you will need to have a valid User ID and Password. If you are already a user of a campus business system (e.g., EmployeeLink, FinancialLink, StudentLink, TravelLink, IFIS, ISIS, PPS, SQL-DSE, or Darwin), please use the User ID and password that you currently use to access these systems.

If you do not use any of these systems, you will be prompted to register and obtain a new User ID on the first time you use MyLeaveBalances. The registration process is simple and can be completed in a couple of minutes. To register, you will need to have a valid official @UCSD.EDU email address, your UCSD employee ID (found on your UCSD ID card or on your pay stub), the last few digits of your social security number, and your birthdate. Please follow the instructions carefully.

For more information on MyLeaveBalances, please visit:

I hope that you find this new tool useful and will take advantage of its application, which was developed through a combined effort of the Leave Activity Summary Report (LASR) Tiger Team, Administrative Computing and Telecommunications (ACT), and the Payroll Department. Please join me in acknowledging the work and efforts of all involved in the development of this tool.

For questions regarding MyLeaveBalances please contact Scott Drummond at sdrummond@ucsd.edu or at x43242. For technical assistance or questions regarding the single sign-on process, please contact the ACT help desk at acthelp@ucsd.edu or at x41853.
