SUBJECT:  Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action and
                     Diversity Award Nominations

The purpose of this notice is to announce the 2002-2003 Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action and Diversity Award Program. This program has been designed to recognize employees, departments or organizational units who have made an outstanding contribution in any or all areas at UCSD during the past year (November 1, 2002 through October 31, 2003). Therefore, all members of the UCSD community are invited and encouraged to nominate staff colleagues who are deserving and meet a certain criteria.

A Review Panel of representatives chosen by the Acting Chancellor and the Vice Chancellors will evaluate all eligible nominations and recommend recipients to Acting Chancellor Marshal A. Chandler. Accordingly, the employees will be recognized and awards will be presented by the Acting Chancellor to each recipient during the annual ceremony to be held on Tuesday, December 2, 2003 at 2:00 p.m. at the Price Center.
