SUBJECT: Appointment of Gary W. Anderson as Director of
Please welcome Gary Anderson who has been appointed as the new Director of the Student Office of Human Relations (SOHR). Gary comes to SOHR from the Office of Religious Affairs (ORA) where he served as the ORA Coordinator from 1999-2001 and Associate Coordinator from 2001-2003.
Gary is the Founding Director of Wesley Foundation, a non-profit corporation that provides fellowships, counseling, and support services to UCSD students through the Office of Religious Affairs. He is no stranger to SOHR having served as Program Coordinator for SOHR's first Hate-Free Campus Campaign, producer of the "Hate-Free Zone" documentary, and Interim Director of SOHR during the summer of 2001. In collaboration with the UCSD Student Conduct Coordinator, he co-developed and teaches an ethics education program for UCSD's six colleges and serves as Vice-Chair of the Burke Lectureship on Religion & Society. Gary received his Bachelor's Degree from the University of Redlands and his Master of Divinity Degree in Theology and Counseling from the Pacific School of Religion in Berkeley, California. Gary is an accomplished screen writer and producer of educational videos.
