SUBJECT:    Voter Registration

To the UCSD Community:

As you know, national and state elections are rapidly approaching. For some of you, this may be the first year you are eligible to vote, while for others, a recent change in residence might have changed your recorded voting address. Regardless of your party affiliation or political views, I encourage you to help strengthen the democratic process by exercising your right to vote in November. (Links to voter registration forms and more information are available at the bottom of this message.)

In order to be eligible to vote in the November 2nd election, you must be registered or re-registered to vote by TODAY, Monday, October 18, 2004. Please remember that if you are already registered to vote you must re-register if you move, change your name, or change your party affiliation.

Voter registration forms are available in many of the campus departments. Please have the voter registration forms submitted by TODAY at 5pm on the 3rd floor of the Price Center and from 5-9:30 in the Price Center Ballroom.

Other important dates to keep in mind:
October 26, 2004 - Deadline for Request for Absentee Ballots
November 2, 2004 - General Election
