Associate Dean Reappointment – Division of Social Sciences

I am very pleased to announce that Professor Jeffrey L. Elman, Department of Cognitive Science, has agreed to accept a second three-year appointment as Associate Dean of the Division of Social Sciences, 50% time, beginning in January of 2005. Despite heavy research and teaching commitments, including co-directing the new Kavli Institute for Brain and Mind, Jeff has been making outstanding contributions to the Division. He will continue to focus primarily on issues concerning personnel, planning, research, development, computing, and space. I know that our departments and programs share my gratitude for his continuing devotion to the Social Sciences.
