UCSD Chancellor's Office - New Associate Chancellor/Chief of Staff

To Members of the UCSD Community:

Please join me in welcoming Clare M. Kristofco to the UCSD Chancellor's Office in the position of Associate Chancellor/Chief of Staff. Clare comes to UCSD from the Chancellor's Office of North Carolina State University, where for six years she has served as Executive Assistant to the Chancellor and Secretary of the University. At NC State, Clare was my chief of staff and a key member of the Executive Officers. She was instrumental in the development of University policy, particularly in gaining approval by the University Board of Trustees for new initiatives, and in formulating communication strategies for the campus community and external constituency groups. She managed the Chancellor's Office and handled all aspects of meetings with the Executive Officers and the University's campus representative advisory group, the University Council. She also acted as my liaison to the Faculty, Staff, and Student Senates.

Clare is a print journalism graduate from the Pennsylvania State University and a member of Phi Kappa Phi. Prior to her responsibilities at NC State, Clare was Assistant to the Dean of Engineering at Penn State, and previously was city editor and research manager at the Knight-Ridder newspaper in State College, PA.
