ALL ACADEMICS AT UCSD

SUBJECT:    Proposed Changes to Policy and Procedure Manual 230

The University invites comments on the proposed new Policy and Procedure Manual Section 230-15 (Family Accommodations Policy) and on revisions to Policy and Procedure Manual Section 230-10 (Academic Leave Policy).

New Policy and Procedure Manual Section 230-15 delineates the expanded and revised family-friendly policies for academic appointees.

The revisions to PPM 230-10 provide clarification of the effect of leaves on the eight-year limit and on the eight-year probationary period. Policies regarding childbearing leave, active service-modified duties, and parental leave have been moved to Policy and Procedure Manual Section 230-15, Family Accommodations Policy.

The proposed new policy and the revised policy, which would apply to all academic appointees, are available on the Web at:
