Appointment of Judy Johnson, Chief of Staff

Please join me in welcoming Judy Johnson to my office as Chief of Staff, replacing Margie Kim who will retire at the end of October, 2004. Margie has served the campus with dedication and wise counsel for many years. Her skills and acumen contributed to many of the successes on this campus.

Judy brings 27 years of UCSD experience where she has held progressively responsible positions at the UCSD Medical Center and campus in the area of human resources. As UCSD's Compensation Manager, Judy played a key role in the planning, design and administration of the campus compensation and job evaluation programs. She has worked with campus leaders on compensation issues and the Office of the President on statewide initiatives and proposals. Judy has provided leadership in the development and implementation of market analyses, campuswide training programs, and web-based tools in the areas of compensation and classification.

I am very pleased to have Judy join my office and I hope you will join me in welcoming her to her new position. Judy will be located at 110 University Center beginning October 12.
