SUBJECT:    Crime Alert Bulletin

Unfortunately, bike thefts on campus continue to be a problem. Victor Lorenzana, who is not affiliated with UCSD, has been contacted by police several times in the past and is suspected of multiple bike thefts. The San Diego District Attorney's Office has issued a $40,000 warrant for Mr. Lorenzana's arrest, charging him with possession of stolen property and grand theft. Mr. Lorenzana is a Hispanic male, age 35, 5' 11", 185 lbs., very short black hair, and brown eyes. He was last reportedly seen on campus near Revelle Plaza and the Main Gym on Tuesday, November 2, 2005. He was wearing a white T-shirt and brown shorts and carrying a backpack. He is known to carry tools and a change of clothing in the backpack. He has often been seen in the past wearing a baseball cap.

Members of the UCSD community are urged to immediately report any siting of Mr. Lorenzana to the UCSD Police Department at 858-534-4357. Please do not attempt to contact him.
