ALL ACADEMICS AND STAFF AT UCSD (including UCSD Medical Center)
I am pleased to announce that Jeff Henry will join UCSD as the Director of the Media Center, effective October 23, 2006. Jeff replaces Sherman George, who retired from UCSD this past June after 30 years of distinguished service to the campus.
As Director of the Media Center, Jeff will have management responsibility for operation of the Media Services division, UCSD Videoconferencing and Distance Learning Facilities, and the Media Teaching Lab. He will serve as Technical Director of UCSD-TV and UCTV and play a leadership role in defining, building and strengthening Media Center campus-wide services and infrastructure.
Jeff's career in broadcasting, audiovisual and information technology spans 30 years. He comes to us most recently from UC Berkeley, where he serves as Manager of Design and Engineering for Educational Technology Services. His responsibilities at Berkeley include designing and maintaining video conferencing facilities, providing engineering oversight for the campus television studio, overseeing the technical operations of the campus radio station; and designing, installing and maintaining classroom technologies and distance learning facilities.
Please join me in welcoming Jeff Henry to the UC San Diego community.
