Reaffirmation of UCSD's Principles of Community

As we begin the Spring Quarter and prepare for Human Relations Awareness Week, April 24 - 28, I would like to take this opportunity to reaffirm UCSD’s commitment to the Principles of Community.

UCSD is represented by diverse races, creeds, cultures, and social affiliations that come together for the good of the university and the communities we serve. The Principles of Community reflect UCSD's commitment to this diversity and underscore our value for the unique contributions of all members of the UCSD community. By working together with mutual respect, awareness, and open communication, we can sustain and enhance the excellence of our institution.

Creating and sustaining our environment of respect and open communication requires the ongoing commitment of each member of the UCSD community. Please join me in reaffirming this commitment.
