UCSD Walking Program

Walk UCSD is a new walking program for UCSD faculty, staff and students, which features nine walking routes on our beautiful campus. The launch of the program and an inaugural walk will take place at 12:00 noon on Friday, June 9, 2006, at the Sun God Lawn. Each of you is urged to join me on this occasion.

Suggested to me in an email from a UCSD employee, the walking program resonates for a campus that enjoys year-round beautiful weather and sits in such a picturesque location. It is also a wonderful way to exercise. The program will be sponsored jointly by the Business Affairs and Student Affairs Vice Chancellor areas, and UCSD Recreation will provide program oversight.

To participate, visit the Walk UCSD Web site (http://walk.ucsd.edu). The site allows one to register, to download maps of walking routes, to set walking goals and to track goal progress.
