ALL STUDENTS AT UCSD

SUBJECT:    Web-based Training for UCSD

We are pleased to make available to UCSD faculty, staff, and students a new web-based training system, offering free online self-directed courses, at any time, from any location to both Windows and Mac users. Element K, the vendor, is the official e-learning developer for Adobe, Macromedia, Cisco, Microsoft, and Corel. Therefore, UCSD users will have access to training in software such as Adobe Acrobat, Photoshop, Dreamweaver, Flash and the full range of Microsoft products. High quality business-related courses are also available to staff and faculty, as a part of this package.

Staff and faculty can log in using their single sign-on username and password via the "Web-Based Training Resources at UCSD" page in Blink at http://blink.ucsd.edu/go/webtraining.

Current UCSD students can login via the "How Students Can Use Element K (Web-based Training)" at http://blink.ucsd.edu/go/elementkstudents.

Please be sure that Flash 8 is installed on your computers prior to launching a course. You will find a link to download it on the welcome screen when you log into Element K.

Information for supervisors about supporting professional development in the University is available in PDF format at http://www-hr.ucsd.edu/policy/profdev.pdf. It can also be found in the UCSD Values for Learning and Professional Development at http://blink.ucsd.edu/go/vld.

We hope that users throughout UCSD will benefit from this exciting new resource.
