SUBJECT:    CONSTRUCTION ALERT - New Rupertus Way Opening

Project Description/Location

As part of the University Center Improvements, the new Rupertus Way street will be opened this Friday, January 5, 2007. It is located north of Building 950 (Cashier’s Office) and south of the new Student Academic Services Building (still under construction). The road work has been completed and, as a result, the existing old Rupertus Way will be closed permanently to prepare for the construction of the future Music Building to begin this month.

Immediate Street Impacts:

New Rupertus Way will be opened to eastbound one-way vehicular traffic as well as pedestrian traffic. Due to current construction activity, no parking will be available on this road. Old Rupertus Way will be closed and barricaded east of Building 950; parking on Old Rupertus Way will be permitted only on the south side of Building 950. This road will serve primarily as a fire lane and service road to the adjacent buildings. Please follow the traffic control at all times.

If you have any questions, please contact the Project Manager, Anka Fabian, at 858-534-3813 or Project Specialist, DJ Feuerborn at 858-822-2983. We greatly appreciate your patience during these construction activities.
