ALL ACADEMICS AND STAFF AT UCSD (including UCSD Medical Center)
ALL STUDENTS AT UCSD

SUBJECT:    CAMPUS CLOSURE

The University of California San Diego has closed the campus and cancelled classes due to the proximity of the wildfires and the extremely unhealthy quality of the air. All non-essential personnel are encouraged not to come to the campus today.

This is a precautionary measure for health and safety. The San Diego Air Pollution Control Dirstrict's forecast for today's Air Quality Index (AQI) predicts levels to be "unhealthy". Please try to stay indoors.

Students with health problems may visit the UCSD Student Health Service. Faculty and staff with health issues may visit the emergency room at UCSD Medical Center.

Be assured that currently the physical campus is not in any immediate danger. Please access the UCSD website (http://ucsd.edu) for updates during the day.
