ALL ACADEMICS AND STAFF AT UCSD (including UCSD Medical Center)

SUBJECT:    Use of UCSD Building Permit PPM 420-3

Effective immediately, the issuance of a UCSD Building Permit is required prior to any construction, alteration , repair, or relating to any object or structure that will be erected either internal or external to any building, if that work is to be performed on university properties. Facilities Design and Construction (FD&C) is responsible for issuing and maintaining the building permits.

The use of the permit will help to ensure that the work being performed has been authorized and is limited to the scope of work defined in the contract, and to identify the minimum number of inspections that are required for this work.

The issuance on UCSD Building Permit is available at:

http://adminrecords.ucsd.edu/ppm/docs/420-3.pdf

All departments or individuals are required to obtain the Building Permit prior to commencement of any work. If you have any questions, please contact Jim Gillie, Facilities Design & Construction, jgillie@ucsd.edu, (858) 822-4885.
